Tumor board preparation

NAVIFY® Tumor Board is a cloud-based workflow product that integrates with IT systems, including electronic medical records, to display all relevant aggregated data into a holistic patient dashboard.

A pilot study was conducted to compare tumor board case preparation time in an institution before and after the introduction of NAVIFY Tumor Board. It illustrated:1

  • Integration of many disparate data sources
  • Defined protocols to develop patient case presentations
  • Standardized workflows and reduced workload
  • Timely discussion of treatment decisions in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Improved patient experience
  • Elevated user perceptions about ease of use and satisfaction

Consolidated specialist findings

Nonconcordant specialist recommendations ideally find resolution before a tumor board meeting, but if oncology team members discuss their differences during the meeting, it reduces time for collaboration and affects the momentum of developing a treatment strategy for the patient.

With a digital tumor board workflow, clinicians can compare their interpretations virtually before the tumor board conference and reach agreement.

Reduced time to prepare patient cases

A cohort study at University of Missouri Health Care evaluated whether digital technologies could aid pathology residents in case preparation for tumor board meetings. Pathology residents’ average case preparation time decreased from 20.4 minutes pre-NAVIFY Tumor Board to 15.6 minutes post — a 24% reduction in time. Benefits were sustained and became more evident over time.2
